The 22 Water Street Residences is a transit-oriented urban community. Situated on Cambridge’s NorthPoint district, this development includes 392 apartment units with a mix of studios, one-, and two-bedroom layouts. Currently, Zinc Apartments manages the 22 Water Street property.
McPhee performed all electrical construction for the 15 story apartment building consisting of 392 Apartment Units, approximately 130,000 square feet of garage space, a 10,000 square feet Fitness Center Area, 25,000 square feet of Roof Terrace & Plaza Area and 350,000 square feet of residence space.
The Scope of Work consisted of all new electrical infrastructure for the complete building, including a new 13.8 kV NSTAR Utility Vault and exterior ductbanks for the relocation of MBTA’s Rail Yard and future Green Line Extension Project.
As part of the project McPhee performed on a design assist basis to complete the electrical documents and offer value added savings suggestions giving savings back to the owner due to budget constraints on the project.
As part of its electrical subcontract McPhee furnished and installed over 4,500 light fixtures, 2,500 fire alarm devices, a full lightning protection system, heat trace system, electrical distribution system including an emergency generator distribution system and 4000 amp normal distribution system, and nearly 800,000 linear feet of wire and cable.
