All Aboard! McPhee Updates Train Schedule Display System

A New Haven Train station goes modern with an impressive Daktronics display installed and connected by McPhee.

Recently, the New Haven train station removed their existing "split-flap" display system that was utilized to provide information regarding the arrival and departures of the trains and purchased a modern electronic display from Daktronics, Inc. of Brookings, South Dakota.

As an Authorized Service Contractor (ASC) for Daktronics, McPhee Electric Ltd.’s lead technician, David Hewitt, was instrumental in supporting the Daktronics field representative with the coordination between the rigging contractor and on-site electricians.

Once the new displays were mounted in place, David provided the necessary guidance to ensure that all internal electrical and fiber optic connections were secure and properly mated prior to the displays receiving power.

Upon energizing the displays, David initiated a test pattern (see picture below) to determine if there were any visual issues prior to performing the final commissioning and subsequent training with the train station staff.
